Frequently asked questions

What is Generations Unite?

Generations Unite is a social entrepreneurial non-profit that aims to reconnect older generations with the rest of society. Specifically, we hope to bridge the gap between the older adult and young adult generation. Generations Unite does this by matching older adults with Companion Volunteers. We offer a free, easy-to-use video-chat platform to help build relationships between our volunteers and older adults. We hope to give older adults the opportunity to impart wisdom to the young adult generation.

Why should I volunteer?

If you are a young adult who wants to learn from the stories, experiences, and wisdom of the older generation Or if you simply want to meet new people and build friendships, you have come to the right place. Additionally, if you want to complete community service volunteer hours or gain experience in Geriatrics, sign up now.

How old do I have to be to sign up as a younger volunteer?

Although age is just a number, we would prefer our volunteers to be over the age of 16. Our goal is to reconnect the older adult and young adult generation, but we would also love to include adult volunteers who simply want to build friendships with older adults.
